Our Counselors

Thomas Hard

The first time I went to college was at UWS where I majored in not attending class! In 1991 I attended Metro State University in St. Paul, MN. where I graduated with a B.A. in counseling and intervention. Then in 2009 I went to L.C.O.O.C.C. and added an A.A. in A.O.D.A. counseling.

Special areas of interest:

Clearly addiction counseling is the main area of interest; however, I do engage myself in the Healthy Living with Diabetes trainings. I am also training to become a presenter for Trauma Informed Parenting through the Wis. Dept. of Children and Families and I go into the Sawyer Co. Jail and hold informational groups with the residents.

Licenses, certifications, affiliations and evidence based specialties

My licensing is Substance Abuse Counselor in the state of Wisconsin. I also have an L.A.D.C. in the state of Minnesota that is currently inactive. I believe strongly in the Client-Center form of counseling, but I also use Motivational Interviewing and recently M.B.C.T.

Tom moved to Hayward in 2015 and has provided outpatient therapy for children, teens, families and couples. His main focus of therapy is to improve the quality of family, couple, and parent-child relationships.
